About the Project
The Distro Transparency Index (DTI) is an independent initiative created by a Linux enthusiast who believes that transparency in open-source projects should go beyond source code availability. The DTI evaluates Linux distributions based on criteria such as governance openness, financial clarity, development transparency, and community involvement.
This project is entirely independent, free from sponsorships, commercial interests, or governmental influence. It is currently the work of a single independent author with a strong passion for open-source values. A more personal introduction is available on the About the Author page.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or wish to contribute to the project—whether by helping with data collection, methodology refinement, or website improvements—please get in touch at: contact@distrotransparencyindex.org.
