Help Shape the Future of Linux Distribution Transparency
The Distro Transparency Index (DTI) is seeking motivated individuals to join our board for the 2025/26 index. As a board member, you'll play a crucial role in evaluating and promoting transparency in Linux distributions.
Who We're Looking For
We’re looking for independent and open-minded individuals with a strong commitment to transparency and open governance. You do not need to be affiliated with any organization. Ideal candidates will:
- Have experience in open source software, policy, community development, or transparency initiatives
- Be unaffiliated with any specific Linux distribution (to preserve impartiality)
- Be available to dedicate a few hours per month to DTI activities
- Uphold ethical conduct and collaborative spirit
Board Composition
Our goal is to form an independent board composed of at least 3 to 5 individuals able to guide the methodology, review scores, and provide impartial oversight.
Ideally, the board would grow to include individuals with the following backgrounds. If you belong to one of these categories, your presence is especially welcome:

- Academic Specialized in Free and Open Source Software
- Open Source Governance Expert
- Legal Professional Specialized in Open Source Licenses
- Linux Community Representative (unaffiliated with specific distributions)
