About the Author
My name is Antonino Rosaci . I work as a nuclear medicine technologist, but my passions go far beyond medical imaging. I have a lifelong love for Linux, open-source ethics, photography, cinema, writing, and travel.
The Distro Transparency Index (DTI) was born from a fundamental need to understand and measure how transparent Linux distributions truly are—not just in terms of source code, but in governance, economics, and community processes.
I’ve spent months researching, investigating, and applying a reproducible method to evaluate dozens of Linux distributions. This project is completely independent—no sponsors, no financial support, and no affiliations. Just passion, rigor, and a strong belief in the values of openness and accountability.
In parallel, I run a YouTube channel called YouTux – Adventures in the Open Source World, where I publish short, sharp videos about the history, philosophy, and news surrounding Linux and open source.
I believe that transparency is a moral responsibility, especially in projects that aim to empower users and communities. Through the DTI, I hope to promote a culture of openness—not as a slogan, but as a standard.
